What you can do

Simple links.
Useful options.

Make a link easier to share, keep it pointing to the right page, and see how it is used. Add the options you need without making every link complicated.

01 / Short links

Give a long address a shorter name.

Paste the web address you want to share and save your link. Let the site choose the ending, or pick a name people can recognize when that option is available.

Add a private label and notes to help you find the link later. From its details page, you can copy its address, check where it goes, or edit its settings.

For example

A menu link that looks like a menu link.

An address such as short.example.com/menu is easier to type and recognize than a long page address with extra tracking details.

Custom link names accept letters, numbers, hyphens, and underscores. Each name must be available.

03 / QR codes

Make printed links easy to open.

Create a QR code for your short link and download it as an SVG image. Add it to a poster, leaflet, or label so people can open the link with their phone camera.

The code opens your short address. If you change that link's destination later, the printed code can still be used as long as the address stays the same.

A better scan

Test before you print.

  • Use dark code on a light background.
  • Leave clear space around the code.
  • Test a sample at the size you plan to print.
  • Print the short address nearby as another way to open it.

04 / Click reports

Find out which links get used.

See clicks over time and compare your links. Check which websites send visits and whether people use a phone, tablet, or computer. For links with a waiting page, see how often visitors continue to the destination.

Spot useful patterns

Compare activity before and after sharing a link. A separate link for a poster or newsletter can help you tell those sources apart.

Understand automated visits

Reports label detected bots, such as familiar crawlers. That helps explain some traffic, but the label cannot identify every automated visit.

Know what the numbers mean

A recorded click is a request for the link. It does not prove someone read the final page. Unique visitors and locations are estimates or may be unavailable.

Read why click reports can look different from your other reports and how visit information is handled in our privacy notice.

05 / Your own domain

Share links under your own name.

Use a domain you own, such as short.example.com, when custom domains are available for your account. Add it in your settings and follow the connection instructions.

Once the domain is approved and its connection is ready, select it for a link. The domain's status page helps you see what is still needed.

What you need

A domain you can manage.

You need access to your domain's DNS settings to point it to this service. The domain also needs administrator approval and a valid HTTPS certificate before it is ready.

Domain registration is separate. This site does not buy or register a domain for you.

Follow the domain setup guide

06 / Messages and security

Add a step when your link needs one.

A simple link sends visitors straight to the destination. You can also show a message, image, or security check first when that helps people use the link.

Explain where the link goes

Add a waiting page with a heading, message, and optional image. Use it to explain what visitors will open before they continue.

Add a security check

Require a CAPTCHA to help reduce automated access. Choose a built-in check or a configured provider, with another check available if the first fails.

Use available ad options

Advertising is available where the site administrator has enabled it. Ad providers have their own setup and approval requirements.

Set up a waiting page or security check
